Who we are: Assafiyyah Realty (“we”, “us”, “our”) — a real-estate company based in Uganda.

We respect your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We follow the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and, where relevant, international standards such as the GDPR for visitors from the EEA/UK.
1) What we collect
We collect information in three ways: you give it to us, we receive it automatically, or we get it from trusted partners.
A. Information you provide
- Contact details – name, email, phone/WhatsApp.
- Enquiry details – property interests, budget, location, preferred dates, messages.
- Viewing & transaction data – IDs (e.g., national ID/passport), proof of funds, KYC/AML checks, address, signatures, contracts and payment confirmations routed via partner law firms or banks.
- Account details (if we offer logins) – username, password, preferences.
- Reviews & testimonials – comments you choose to share.
- Job applications – CVs, references and related data.
B. Information collected automatically
- Device & usage – IP address, browser type, pages viewed, time on site, clicks.
- Cookies & similar tech – to keep the site secure, remember preferences, measure performance and, if you agree, show ads.
C. Information from third parties
- Lead sources – property portals, social media, or referral partners when you ask them to send us your details.
- Due-diligence providers – surveyors, law firms and AML/KYC services during a transaction.
2) Why we use your information (lawful bases)
We only use your data when we have a valid reason:
- To respond to enquiries and provide services (contract/steps to contract).
- To schedule viewings and send property updates you request (contract/consent).
- To complete sales/lettings and property management including KYC/AML checks, invoicing and receipts (contract/legal obligation).
- To improve the Site and our services through analytics and feedback (legitimate interests).
- To secure our systems and prevent fraud (legitimate interests/legal obligation).
- To send marketing (news, listings, guides) with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
3) Cookies & analytics
We use necessary cookies to run the Site. With your consent we may use:
- Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand traffic and fix issues.
- Advertising pixels (e.g., Meta/Google) to measure ads and show you relevant offers.

4) Who we share data with
1We only share what’s needed to deliver the service:Professional partners – law firms, banks, mortgage providers, surveyors, valuers, property managers and maintenance contractors.
- Technology providers – website hosting, email/SMS services, analytics, CRM, advertising platforms, form and chat tools, document e-signature providers.
- Public authorities – where required by law or to protect our rights (e.g., AML checks, fraud prevention).
- Business transfers – if we merge, sell or restructure, data may move to the new owner under the same protections.
We do not sell your personal data.
5) International transfers
Our partners and servers may be outside Uganda. When we transfer data internationally, we use safeguards such as contractual clauses, reputable cloud providers and security controls to keep your data protected.
6) How we keep data secure
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Access controls and staff training.
- Vendor due diligence and confidentiality obligations.
- Segregation of sensitive files (e.g., KYC) and secure deletion when no longer needed.
No system is 100% secure, but we work to prevent and quickly address issues.
7) How long we keep data
We keep data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected and to meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Typical periods:

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
8) Your rights
Under Uganda’s DPPA (and GDPR where it applies), you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of your data.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete data in certain cases.
- Restrict or object to processing, including marketing.
- Portability – receive data in a usable format (where applicable).
- Withdraw consent at any time (this won’t affect past lawful processing).
To exercise your rights, email support@assafiyyahrealty.com. We will respond as required by law. You may also lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Office (PDPO), Uganda or your local authority.
9) Marketing choices
- Email/SMS/WhatsApp: We’ll only send marketing if you’ve opted in or there’s a clear existing client relationship. Unsubscribe links are in every message, or contact us to opt out.
- Ads: You can manage ad preferences in your social accounts and through our cookie banner.
10) Third-party links
Our site may link to other websites. They have their own privacy policies. Please review them before submitting data.
11) Minors
Our services are for adults. If we learn we collected data from a child without consent, we’ll delete it.
12) CCTV & events
Viewings or open houses at certain properties may have CCTV or access logs managed by the property owner or management company. Their policies apply and are available on request.
13) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to laws or our services. We’ll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If changes are material, we’ll let you know by email or a notice on the Site.
